Industries Using Seamless Steel Pipes

Seamless steel pipes are elongated steel materials with a hollow cross-section and no seams around the perimeter. They find extensive application in various industries, primarily for fluid transportation purposes, including conveying oil, natural gas, gas, water, and certain solid materials. Compared to solid steel materials like round bars, steel pipes are lighter in weight while maintaining similar bending and torsional strength, making them economically viable for structural components and mechanical parts. They are commonly utilized in manufacturing structural elements and machinery parts such as oil drill rods, automobile drive shafts, bicycle frames, and steel scaffolding used in construction.

Additionally, seamless steel pipes are indispensable in the production of various conventional weapons, including gun barrels and cannon tubes. They can be categorized into round pipes and special-shaped pipes based on differences in cross-sectional area shape. Round pipes are preferred for fluid transportation due to their maximum circular area, allowing for greater fluid conveyance efficiency.

However, round pipes have limitations, particularly in resisting plane bending compared to square or rectangular pipes. Therefore, square or rectangular pipes are commonly used in agricultural machinery frames, steel-wood furniture, and other applications where greater bending strength is required. Furthermore, depending on specific requirements, other types of special-shaped steel pipes may be needed for different purposes.

1. Structural Seamless Steel Pipes: Used for general structural and mechanical purposes.
2. Seamless Steel Pipes for Fluid Transportation: Utilized for conveying water, oil, and gas.
3. Low and Medium Pressure Boiler Seamless Steel Pipes: Employed in manufacturing various structural components of low and medium pressure boilers, such as superheated steam pipes, boiling water pipes, and steam locomotive boiler superheated steam pipes.
4. High-Pressure Boiler Seamless Steel Pipes: Utilized for manufacturing high-pressure water pipes for boilers, made of high-quality carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless heat-resistant steel.
5. Seamless Steel Pipes for Fertilizer Equipment: Suitable for chemical equipment and pipelines operating within a temperature range of -40°C to 400°C and a pressure range of 10 to 30 MPa.
6. Seamless Steel Pipes for Petroleum Cracking: Used for furnace tubes, heat exchangers, and pipelines in petroleum refining plants.
7. Geological Drilling Pipes: Supplied for geological drilling purposes, including drill rods, drill bits, core tubes, casing pipes, and sediment pipes.
8. Diamond Core Drilling Pipes: Applied in diamond core drilling for drill rods, core rods, and casing pipes.
9. Petroleum Drilling Pipes: Utilized for petroleum drilling, with thickened inner and outer ends. These pipes can be threaded or welded.
10. Carbon Steel Seamless Steel Pipes for Ships: Manufactured for shipbuilding, including I-grade pressure-resistant pipe systems, II-grade pressure-resistant pipe systems, and carbon steel seamless steel pipes for boilers and superheaters on ships.
11. Seamless Steel Pipes for Automotive Axle Sleeves: Used for manufacturing automotive axle sleeves and drive axle shell pipes made of high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy structural steel.
12. High-Pressure Oil Pipes for Diesel Engines: Manufactured for high-pressure pipes in diesel engine fuel injection systems, using cold-drawn seamless steel pipes.
13. Precision Inner Diameter Seamless Steel Pipes for Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinders: Produced for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder tubes with high precision inner diameter dimensions.
14. Cold-Drawn or Cold-Rolled Precision Seamless Steel Pipes: Employed in machinery structures and hydraulic equipment, offering high dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
15. Stainless Steel Seamless Steel Pipes for Structural Use: Widely used in corrosion-resistant pipelines and structural components and parts in chemical, petroleum, textile, medical, food, and machinery industries.
16. Stainless Steel Seamless Steel Pipes for Fluid Transportation: Utilized for conveying fluids in corrosive environments.
17. Special-Shaped Seamless Steel Pipes: Comprising all non-circular pipes, including equal wall thickness special-shaped seamless steel pipes, unequal wall thickness special-shaped seamless steel pipes, and variable diameter special-shaped seamless steel pipes. These pipes find broad applications in various structural components, tools, and mechanical parts, offering increased bending and torsional resistance and potential weight reduction in structures compared to circular pipes.
